Engineering is entering a new period of computational transformation. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is now capable of perception, generation, reasoning, retrieval, and workflow assistance at a scale that was difficult to imagine only a few years ago. Yet engineering practice imposes demands that generic AI narratives often underestimate: physical constraints, safety implications, operational accountability, sparse and heterogeneous data, long asset lifecycles, and low tolerance for silent failure.

Engineering Informatics and Intelligent Systems was founded in response to this reality. We believe the future of engineering AI lies not in unconstrained automation, but in systems that combine data-driven capability with engineering knowledge, semantic structure, explicit constraints, and human accountability.

Our aim is to provide a home for research that helps transform AI into dependable engineering capability. We welcome work that is ambitious but honest, innovative but grounded, and technically strong without losing sight of how engineering decisions are actually made.
